The new, world-class Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center was designed to maximize patient safety and operational efficiencies, prompting the construction of seven steel decks.
Concrete contractor Christman Constructors, Inc. and engineer HOK utilized a mix containing STRUX 90/40 to reinforce 780,000 square feet of concrete, including seven composite decks, topping slabs and the basement’s slab on grade. It was one of the nation’s largest applications of synthetic macro fiber construction on steel composite decks. Using STRUX resulted in easier placement, crack control, cost savings and a smooth burnished finish.
