In 2012, the Washington Department of Health (WDOH) began requiring all precast septic tanks to meet new loading requirements. This presented two challenges for precast manufacturer White Block Company: an increase in the reinforcement required, and the rising cost of steel reinforcement. Inland Northwest Engineering updated their septic tank designs for both current and required loading.
In order to maintain or increase performance without driving up costs, White Block Company enlisted BASF to review the updated designs and provide a macrosynthetic fiber reinforced concrete solution, MasterFiber MAC Matrix, that met the specifications of the WDOH and White Block Company.
