The City of Portland needed a better way to maintain its roads. To demonstrate the value of Ultra-Thin Whitestopping for future jobs, the city’s project manager recommended its use in reinforce a heavily trafficked, 300-foot-long road near the city’s airport.
A slab-on-grade concrete mix was developing utilizing Ultra-Thin Whitetopping to reinforce the road’s four-inch concrete overlay, with forms placement, saw cuts and expert guidance from Roger Langliers Construction. This approach extended the life of pavement repairs to double that of a traditional asphalt mill and fill job, and saved on maintenance costs.
