Concrete contractor Donley’s Inc. and Tech Ready-Mix converted the existing conventional #4 bar at 12” c.c. steel reinforcement to TUF-STRAND SF macro-synthetic fibers at a dosage rate of 4.3 lbs/yd3, which saved approximately 50 days on the principal construction schedule due to faster pour times, improved safety and less required labor on site.
To meet the original specifications, Euclid substituted SURFLEX Natural quartz aggregate shake as a hardener, and Euco QWIKjoint UVR as a joint filler for crack control. Euco Diamond Hard was applied to finish the convention center floor. A portion of the total savings exceeded $96,000, plus savings in overall construction schedules.
