Dr. Charles Nmai, P.E., M.ASCE, FACI | Manager of Engineering Services, Admixture Systems

Nmai provides technical leadership and strategic guidance in the marketing of admixtures and high-performance concrete technologies. He also coordinates specification efforts and related activities in industry technical bodies for rapid acceptance of new technologies within the concrete industry. With extensive experience in admixtures, fibers high-performance concretes, concrete durability and troubleshooting, Nmai has authored/co-authored numerous papers and lectures on these topics, and served on expert panels for FHWA, IPRF and NCHRP research projects. He is also actively involved in technology transfer activities related to self-consolidating concrete, having spearheaded the development of a comprehensive FHWA seminar on technology to facilitate acceptance and use by State Departments of Transportation. Nmai is an active member of several ACI committees; ASTM International, where he chairs Subcommittee C 09.23 on Chemical Admixtures; the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI); and ASCE, where he serves on the National Committee for Concrete Canoe Competition. He is also the incoming president of FRCA. Nmai holds a Ph.D. in civil engineering from Purdue University and is a licensed professional engineer in Ohio.
